Repurposing the side stream of potato processing into functional food ingredients.

Solution Description
We are solving the problem of zero or low value uses of potato peels waste arising from the potato processing industry. We do this by valorising the potato peels side stream into new and innovative functional food ingredients. Europe is the second-largest grower of potatoes worldwide growing 122 million tons of potatoes, with EU production at 52 million tons. Processed European potato production is worth more than 10 billion euros. An estimated 8 million tonnes of this organic waste is produced in the EU annually. (European Potato Processors’ Association)
Our two initial products are 100% vegan, allergen free (gluten and soy), fiber rich and circular food ingredient products produced from potato peels side stream. Our products and formulations are innovative, they don’t utilise harmful chemicals in the manufacturing process and give the consumers a better nutritional profile.
Prumbs™ is our first product that can be used as an external coating as well as texturizer and binder for both meat & plant-based meat analogues.
Fibradd™ is our second product that contains a great balance of both soluble and insoluble fiber. As a fiber additive, it increases the fiber content of the products improving the nutritional profile.
